Dan Matula

SVP - Acquisitions and Development

Dan Matula joined Scout Cold Logistics in 2021 as Senior Vice President – Acquisitions and Development. He is responsible for property acquisition and development related activities including transaction sourcing and negotiations, due diligence, and investment/development execution.

Dan brings over 30 years of experience in property acquisition, development, and construction covering a diverse field of real estate sectors including industrial, commercial, multi-family and hospitality. Prior to joining Scout, Dan served as Regional Vice President of Development for Public Storage, the largest self-storage company in the United States. During his seven-year tenure at Public Storage, Dan was responsible for property acquisition, development, and redevelopment of over 75 self-storage facilities across the country.

Prior to joining Public Storage, Dan served as Executive Vice President of Redevelopment and Construction for AIMCO, one of the largest, publicly- traded, multi-family REITs. During his eight-year tenure at AIMCO, Dan held several roles and ultimately led all redevelopment and construction activities nationally with responsibility for delivering over 4,000 units.

Dan also served as Senior Vice President for Catellus Development Corporation where he oversaw construction operations nationally with responsibility for delivering over 22 million square feet of industrial product, and Regional Director of Construction for Extended Stay America with responsibility for site feasibility and planning, design, and construction of over 60 new hotels throughout the Western United States.

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Louisiana State University.
