John Long
SVP - Business Development
John Long joined Scout Cold Logistics in 2025 as Senior Vice President of Business Development. In his role, John shares oversight of the implementation of Scout’s commercial strategy and business development functions. Responsibilities include driving revenue growth, deepening tenant partnerships, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies and expanding Scout’s base of customer and broker relationships. John brings nearly 25 years of experience in the perishable grocery segment and temperature controlled industrial real estate space where he has demonstrated his creativity in bringing parties together and commitment to deal execution.
Prior to joining Scout, John was the Chief Operating Officer at Provender Partners and oversaw the entirety of the company’s operations including acquisitions, construction, asset management and leasing, as well as the interaction with equity and debt partners on a programmatic basis. Over ten years, he completed 33 acquisitions totaling more than 8.7 million square feet and executed over 7.2 million square feet of leasing representing $895M in capital commitments.
Before joining Provender, John was a commercial real estate broker at Colliers International and the Western Region representative for Colliers Food Advisory Services group, where he specialized in the representation of owners and users of food related industrial properties. Areas of focus included food processing, production, packaging, distribution and storage.
John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Point Loma Nazarene University and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California.
